Supporting Family,
As we mentioned in the last update we want to try to give you a laymen’s perspective on the daunting task of translating God’s Word into a tribal language. We are aware that for many of you this will be a bit technical and detailed but we want to challenge you to try to imagine what goes into Bible translation.
We’re currently living in a village where we’re seeing this happen day in and day out. NTM missionary Darcy Berglund has been working on the translation for years. She has a great team of tribal believers who are working through this project with her. One of the books Darcy is working through this week is James. Let’s see how she puts James 1 into the Semandang language:

Step One–Exegetical Draft |
Step Two–Team Drafting |
Step three–Content Check |
This is just a glimpse of some reworking on part of a verse. As you can see this is a huge project and needs much prayer and time to work through and accurately translate God’s Word.
After His Glory,
Tim & Andrea Ullum
