Dear Family and Friends,
We would like to update you all regarding some calendar events we have coming up in September. A
s always we appreciate your partnership with us both in sending and in upholding us along the way in prayer. Before we get to that I wanted to give you a brief reminder of why we call our Web Page, Delight in the Journey.
I was reminded this morning through Moses’ stirring prayer in Psalms 90 that true life must be found above (transcendent to) the daily grind. If we only look at the, here and now what we will see is that life is short and in the end (which will doubtless come prematurely 90:3-6) there will be much “labor and sorrow” 90:10. Transcendent to our moment by moment life of activities is Moses’ statement, “You have been our dwelling place in all generations.” Over a
nd above all the “labor and sorrow” of life’s daily grind is fellowship with God! Later in Moses’ prayer he says, “O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” 90:14. As we lift our eyes to the LORD God, plead for Him alone to satisfy us (”in the morning”) then no matter what a day might bring we can sing for joy and be glad. So Delight in the Journey is a way for us to focus on the transcendent, to focus on the LORD in all our ups and downs of life. Deuteronomy 33:27 (NASB95) “The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms”[1]
Most of September I will be assisting several new church planters in their tribal language learning. I will be traveling with a consultant who has served here in Indonesia for many years and has a heart to help teams communicate God’s truth with clarity. This will give me a chance to connect wit
h our larger team here in Borneo and also interact with the churches in those areas. We wold appreciate your prayers for us as I travel and for Andrea as she is involved in different aspects of ministry in town.
Love and prayers,
Tim & Andrea Ullum
