Ministry Focus

To plant churches and make disciples among unreached tribal peoples in Indonesia! Our current focus is among the Kendawangan tribe located in South West Borneo.

Call to Christ

Both Tim and Andrea were raised in Christian families and have benefited from the influence and teaching of faithful believers in their lives. They met during the second half of their training with New Tribes Mission and were married in March of 2001. Together they completed their training with NTM in May of 2002.

Call to Missions Service

Tim had the privilege of taking many short-term trips overseas and saw the real need of so many who live outside the reach of the gospel. Andrea was burdened with world evangelism as a teenager and began praying that God would use her to share His message with those who did not know Him. Both Tim and Andrea are convinced that there is salvation in no other name but Jesus Christ. Therefore, armed with God’s sure promises, the Ullums plan to serve in Indonesia as tribal church planters.

Kendawangan Outreach

The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them. (Isa 9:2 NASB) The Kendawangan people are, “people who walk in darkness…” Not unlike many of the tribal people here in Borneo, animism is the foundation of their thoughts and lifestyle. New Tribes Mission has known for many years that there were unreached peoples in the Kendawangan river area but not until the end of 2005 did real survey begin. God opened a way for Tim & Andrea Ullum to locate in the capital town of Riam as an initial step into this big area. Now the Ullums along with Noel & Kathy Carpenter are trusting that Yahweh, the true creator God will shine His light into this darkness.

Financial Needs

As Andrea and I look back on the years we have been serving in Indonesia we can say in praise to God, “I have all and abound. I am full having received from (faithful supporters like you) the things sent, a sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.” Thank you so much for your gifts, prayers, packages, and emails this past year. You have been a blessing to us! We also want to encourage your selfless giving to the things of the Kingdom with this confidence; “my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Therefore be bold as you live by faith and store up treasure in heaven, through your living and your giving!

Two projects that are before us this year are:

1. Building a Mission Home and Educational Center in Pontianak.  Check it out.

2. Build an airstrip in the tribal where we are living.

• For our relationships with the Lord and deliberate time in the Word and prayer.
• That we would work diligently at our tribal culture and language proficiency.
• That close relationships would be established with our Indonesian and tribal neighbors.
• That God would strengthen our partnership with Noel and Kathy and their children as we work together in the village.
